South Central Region 8 Workforce Board will serve as a catalyst to promote collaborative relationships between business, education, labor, and service providers to support workforce development efforts and regional economic growth.

South Central Region 8 Workforce Board Notice of 30 Day Comment Period on Local Plan

The South Central Region 8 Workforce Board, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer, is requesting public comments regarding the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Local Plan of Services.  The WIOA Local Plan is the primary vehicle for communicating the vision for the local WorkOne system and how it will provide services to meet the needs of job seekers and employers in the Indiana Counties of Owen, Monroe, Brown, Greene, Daviess, Martin, Lawrence and Orange.

The public comment period begins on August 17, 2018 and ends at 5:00 PM (EDT) on September 17, 2018.  To view the plan, click here.

The South Central Region 8 Workforce Board, Inc. (WDB) is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation which has oversight of employment and training programs in the following eight counties: Brown, Daviess, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange and Owen. The WDB serves as a pass through entity providing employment and training programs in the Economic Growth Region 8 using a variety of state and federal grant resources, including those available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Re-employment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA), Adult Education WorkINdiana Training Program, Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG), Business Services.

The WDB is governed by a volunteer board that will initiate program directives and provide oversight and guidance on program operations. Crowe Horwath, LLP serves as Fiscal Agent.
